WCEC completes LIF project in the Duluth Harbor - 11/10/2008

WCEC has completed the Laser Induced Fluorescence Investigation in the Duluth Harbor for the season. WCEC utilized the Ultra-Violet Optical Screening Tool – UVOST^TM to screen sediments around Rice’s Point in the Duluth Harbor.  The investigation included 197 sampling locations with a total of 5,256 feet of LIF screening in 20 days. 

WCEC’s utility vehicle mounted UVOST^TM and skid steer mounted push probe were essential to completing the project quickly and efficiently.  The utility vehicle and push probe fit nicely on a local operator’s barge, the Sea Camel.
